The historic Boston Marathon is happening right in our backyard, and we've been keeping up with lots of Boston Marathon fundraisers and charities as April 20 fast approaches. So far over 800 charity runners have raised almost $700,000 online with their personal fundraising pages. Larry is just one of many marathon fundraisers we know with an incredibly inspiring story. He turned 60 last month and has decided to take this milestone and, well. . . run with it. Not only is Larry running Boston this year, he's also running 5 other marathons: one for every decade. And to boot, he's raising money for his favorite non-profit, Evergreen Commons. You can read more about Larry's story at his fundraising page, where he's posted the following donation suggestions for his fans:
$26.20 = 26.2 miles per marathon
$157.20 = 6 marathons
$60.00 = My age
$100 = What can I say.....a nice round number
$500 = 500 training miles per marathon
$________ = Your choice.....every $ helps
Larry's received some fantastic local press coverage, too Kudos, Larry! We've made a donation to your page in support of your fundraising goal. Over the next few weeks, we'll be featuring more stories about Boston Marathon fundraisers here at Team Firstgiving.
