On the go with Chobani – Maple Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal
Posted Jan 13 2012 10:06pm
Hey ya’ll. Happy Friday!
I was on the road again this week and working pretty long hours. When I am getting minimal sleep and eating most meals at my desk, I want the easiest breakfast options possible. But, I don’t like to sacrifice the healthiness or taste of my breakfast for the sake of convenience.
I am a huge lover of Chobani greek yogurts. I have yet to have a flavor I didn’t love, and I was so excited when I saw Apple Cinnamon in their new flavor line-up.
I haven’t really discussed this on the blog but apples with cinnamon are probably my favorite thing to eat. Boiled shrimp (preferably boiled by my Paw-Paw ) is a close second. Since I never get the latter due to that whole I live in Nashville thing, apples with cinnamon are a mainstay in my healthy diet. Thus, I was positively gleeful when I saw Chobani’s new flavor.
I concocted the tastiest, easiest ,on the go breakfast this week using 3 ingredients.
Even if you aren’t on the road, you should make this. Now. Well, first, read the recipe, then try it.
The magical 3 ingredients
1 container Chobani Apple Cinnamon Yogurt
½ packet Justin’s Maple Almond Butter
1 container plain oatmeal *
Prepare oatmeal as directed (if you are making from scratch). Let oatmeal cool for a 3-5 minutes.
Mix in almond butter and then mix in Chobani Apple Cinnamon yogurt.
*Often, I head to McDonalds or Starbucks to get my morning coffee when I am on the road. I order plain oatmeal and then let it cool while I drive into the office. Multi-tasking folks.
Yum and yum.
The nutritionals are pretty great on this one: 341.3 calories, 11.3g fat, 40.1g carbs and 20g protein.
Swap out different flavors of Chobani.
Swap out different nut butters – peanut butter, hazelnut butter – the possibilities are endless.
Use plain yogurt and add in some fresh fruit if flavored yogurts aren’t your thing.
