Oikos Greek Yogurt Review

Posted May 11 2009 12:00am

I can officially say that I Love Greek yogurt!!! It was quite unexpected but then again the best kind of love always is. I am not a yogurt person (correction was not a yogurt person), but after hearing about Greek yogurt numerous times over the past couple weeks I figured I would give it a try so on one of my trips to Wal-Mart I picked up 4 containers of Oikos Vanilla Greek Yogurt (the best and worst move of the week, best because I really liked it worst because I only got 4). I tried it the next day with some granola and pineapple and my first thought when I got done no lie was “That was soooo good” So good in fact that I googled Oikos and learned from the company’s site that:

“Greek yogurt is creamier than regular yogurt. Authentic Greek yogurt like ours owes its extra creaminess to a centuries-old straining process that removes the whey (liquid) from the yogurt.
Oikos Organic Greek Yogurt has 0% fat, just 90 calories per 5.3 oz.-serving*, twice the protein of regular yogurt, and fewer carbohydrates. Because it’s organic, our yogurt is also better for the earth. And we think it’s better for you, too.”

I also emailed the company to tell them how much I enjoyed their product and today in the mail I received some coupons and a reusable grocery bag along with a nice letter from the company.

So if you haven’t tried Oikos Greek yogurt yet, add it to your next grocery list you will not be disappointed, if you visit the Oikos website you can download coupons. The only problem I am having is finding stores that carry Greek yogurt so far I have only been able to find it the Wal-Mart Supercenter that is about 40 mins. From my house, but it is worth the trip.
