Nutritional Information: Part 2

Posted Nov 21 2008 4:49pm

My last day...whew...that was about the hardest thing I've had to do in a long time. Do you know how hard it is to oversleep until 4:47 three mornings in a row?!?!?!?

But, the final session between non-runner-co-worker and I was successful. She's now on a walk 4 minutes/run 2 minutes schedule and will *hopefully* slowly diminish that walk time away. I'm very proud of her, although I knew all along she could do it (she's got way more determination than me...can you believe that?)

Okay, on to me. Because this is MY blog (hehe...just kidding...i'm not that selfish).

Anyway, since I had the revelation with the cheesecake yesterday, I decided that today I was going to eat totally healthy and not stray one bit from a normal, healthy diet. You may think that shouldn't be that hard...I mean it is only ONE day, right??? Well, what you (okay most of you) don't know is that directly across from my cube is someone elses cube. And in that someone elses cube is a thing called the larder. What is a larder, you may ask?

According to Merriam-Webster:
Main Entry: lar·der
Pronunciation: 'lär-d&r
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Anglo-French,
1 : a place where food is stored
2 : a supply of food

But in our office, it is not a "supply of food" but a supply of JUNK FOOD. All the chocolate, PHO (partially hydrogenated oil) laden candy, and enough York Peppermint Patties to feed a 3rd world country. Really. I have never figured out why it is always stocked with YPP. There maybe nothing else, but they are always there. Oh, and I love them.

So, I sit across from the larder and that makes it super-hard to not give into the biggest sweet tooth known to man....ME.

But, I did. And it wasn't so hard. I am often asked what I eat (I don't know why, but people ask alot), so here goes. Everything that touched my lips, tongue, and inside of my intestines (okay, maybe some of it hasn't made it that far yet....)

1- to-go mug of black coffee
1- container of Dannon All Natural Strawberry Yogurt mixed with
1 - bowl of Natures Path Optimum Zen Cranberry Ginger Cereal (hey, if it's good enough for Dean, it's good enough for me)
1 - salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, green pepper, smoked turkey and fat-free Ranch dressing (I think Troy and I are the only people in the world who like fat-free everything)
1- small cup of blueberries and kiwi fruit mixed together
2- handfuls of Amy's Special Snack Mix (yes...this Amy) packed with almonds, cashews, banana chips, dried mango and pineapple, regular raisins, golden raisins, and broken up Kashi Granola Bars (they're not my favorite just by themselves)
1- peanut butter and jelly sandwich on Natures Own 100% whole wheat specialty bread (natural peanut butter and jelly)
1- handful of Flat Earth Chips (if you haven't tried them, they are AWESOME!)
100+ ounces of water

And that's it. That's alot I guess.

And I'm sure I'll be adding Rice Dream Butter Pecan Organic Soy Ice cream (which is also my new favorite food find) to the list when I get through with this blog post.

So, in spite of the cheesecake I guess I am a pretty healthy eater.

Plan for the rest of the week:
Run 6 Thur
Run 8 Fri with DT Runner Girl
Run 6 Sat back at the trails with T-roi
Rest on Sunday

Other than that, the next 4 days will be filled with studying studying studying (I have another certification exam on Monday).

Have a great Wednesday!
