I am a little late in posting this but I did complete my 4th Half Marathon on October 14th. It was great to run one after not running a half since February 2011. My garmin time was 2:28ish official 2:31ish. It was actually my second fastest. PR is 2:19:27. One day I'll get back in shape and be able to run one without water/walk breaks I hope!
Newport was a beautiful course. Definitely the most scenic course I have run. The weather wasn't that great but I survived the wind. I had the most energy at mile 8 which was great. Lost steam after 10 but finished strong. My last quarter of a mile I ran at a sub 10 pace so that was fantastic.
I want to take the winter off of heavy running since I did develop shin splints in my left leg. Especially 5 months post surgery I do not want any more injuries!
I signed up for the Run to Remember Half Marathon for May 2013. This will give me some time to relax and start training in the spring :)
