Ray,
Great job for following the RICE recommendations. I recommend to keep taking it easy in regards to running and other high impact activities. I would do some light activities that don't stress the joint like walking and swimming to stay healthy and also keep the joint mobile. If you knee isn't feeling better in another week or two I would check with your doctor.
Best wishes!

i've been running everyweekend in the the park 4-6 miles, but one weekend i went to the military base to have my car fixed and decided to do my run there. Run for about an hr on the road. A few days later, my knee starts to hurt, it's been 2 1/2 weeks now. Check the website on how to exercise a swollen or injured knee. I think it was the hard surface that did it. Been doing the RICE (Rest-Ice-Compress-Elevate. It helps a lot but there is still some pain especially when i wake up in the morning or at work when i stand up from the chair.
