My First "Long" Training Run

I unexpectedly ended up getting the day off tomorrow and will be attempting long training run #1 in the morning.

As referenced on the attached Google map, I'll be doing a "half-loop" of my usual run to Astoria Park, before continuing down 21st Street and crossing the Queensboro Bridge. Then I'll keep going until I reach Central Park West and turn around and return to the outer-borough life.

This run will be just over 12 miles and should take about two hours. And it honestly looks pretty daunting, considering the most I've ever done on a plain-old-unscored-run is eight miles. On the plus side, doing a long run like this means I get not two, but three rest and recovery days this weekend.

Off I go!
