My response may not be a complete answer, but it is something she should consider. Be sure she does stretches to strengthen her quads.
Here are the ones I do. I do them before and after I run. Your daughter shouldn't feel any pain while she stretches. She should be gentle as she pulls her muscles. if she feels pain, she should back off and not pull so hard. Walking and a slow jog before a run or game will help her warm up.
