This week’s Monday Brain Exchange question asked
Do you listen to music when you work out? When you race? What are you top ten favorite songs to get pumped up to?
Let’s address each part…
1) Do you listen to music when you work out?
I have been listening to audiobooks when I run on my own. But if I’m running with friends or with Team Challenge, obviously I don’t listen to anything. If I’m lifting weights I prefer music over books though. And some days, I just need to lose myself in tunes so I run with those. But I never ever ever ever ever wear both earbuds while running.
And I claim housework as a workout (that’s the only thing that makes it tolerable!) and I listen to music while I do that!
2) Do you listen to music when you race?
Nope. I did make a playlist specifically for the Bryce Canyon Half Marathon , but had a bit of a technology fail with that so I ended up at the start line without music on my iPod.
