mission: exert minimum effort

Posted Nov 02 2009 12:00am

I’m really unenthusiastic about cooking this week. I think it’s mostly because so many of the things I tried last week totally flopped. I’m much more encouraged to try new recipes when they are a success rather than a total disaster.

Maybe I’m exaggerating, but the crockpot meal I made did not turn out. It was a recipe for cheesy potatoes and ham, but the cheese ended up too saucy for my taste… I just can’t get out of my head how great the chili was that I made, so I was hoping I could find another home run!

Here’s what we’re eating this week:

1. Sloppy Joes (manwich style… the epitome of lazy.)
2. Veggie quiche and muffins
3. Paninis and tomato soup
4. Stuffed Shells
5. Taco Dip
6. BBQ Chicken
7. Out–Adam’s already put in his vote for KFC, which I’m all about. Their BBQ wings are almost as good as Bdubbs …. almost.

I feel a cold starting to resonate a little more each morning when I wake up. I’m going to pick up something at the drug store on my way back from grocery shopping this morning, and drink tea all day. This time of the year, there is no time to be sick!

What do you do to stay healthy? If you feel some major illness coming on, how do you head it off?
