On Sunday I’m planning to joggle the 13.1 series Miami half marathon. It seems like a nice enough race, temperate weather, palm trees and sites I don’t usually get to see. Also, it’s medium sized with a predicted field of 5000 runners.
I’m looking forward to it. Unfortunately, my plans have a few snags. First, Miami is 85 miles from where I’m staying. Not a problem as its just a little over an hour drive. However, the race starts at 6:13am. Ugh!! I’ll have to leave the place I’m staying at 4:15am.
The next challenge is that I am in Miami today Friday, and was going to pick up my packet. But the packet pickup is not in Miami but rather, a suburb that is 30 miles away. Double ugh!
Add to that the $95 fee and things are looking really shaky for me doing this one.
However, I believe the more challenging a thing is to accomplish the better it is to do. I especially like to do things if they make a more interesting story.
So, my plan is to do the race but sign up race morning.
