I’m heading out this morning for a (hot!) local 5k. I was undecided all week and put the question out on Facebook … of course, y’all told me to go for it. So thanks a lot…
(By the way, I kind of like saying y’all now… only one more week to use my new southern slang!)
I’m not expecting to pr in this kind of heat and humidity, but it’s a nice excuse for a little speed work! This week’s workouts:
Sunday: 3.5 recovery run
Monday: Lactate threshold testing (2.5 miles) + pm spin and 2.5 miles
Tuesday: pm spin + upper body
Wednesday: 6 mile easy run (ave pace 8:45) + squats/lunges/core
Thursday: 5 mile tempo run (7:57, 7:28, 7:13, 7:31, 7:53) am + 3 recovery run pm
Saturday: taught 1 hour spin + 100 push ups
I’m hoping to get in about ten total miles today with a few before and after the 5k as my last “long” run before marathon training starts.
It was my last day Saturday spin class, and a little sad! I have one more on Tuesday and then I’m done. I hope I can plug in at a local gym when we move, even as a sub. I love teaching and will miss my classes here!
