Meditate for Improved Performance

According to a report in Runner's World, University of Pennsylvania neuroscientists have shown that an eight-week meditation training course that included daily 30 minutes of meditation improved the speed and accuracy (at various computer tests) of subjects who took the course. Considering the importance of concentration and focus while racing, it's quite possible these results could translate to faster times. Bonus: If an athlete also incorporated 15 minutes of daily visualization into their practice, they could possibly reap dramatic improvements!
