I’ve teased barefooters and minimalists in the past, but I actually think you should run in the most comfortable way possible for you. If that means clown shoes or scuba flippers, go for it. I mean it - and take pictures, please.
I am a little baffled by the direction the phenomenon appears to be heading. I noted back in April 2011 the introduction of the Vibram Bikila, which was “designed for the barefoot runner” with extra padding on the heel and cushioning on the top. Huh?
Now we have the Zensah Ankle Support , which is a compression band designed to be worn with minimalist shoes. Pretty soon, minimalists will have more things on their feet than the rest of us.
Fortunately, I have found the solution that will satisfy minimalists, barefooters, traditionalists and especially shoe companies – the soleless running shoe .
