I love Valentine’s Day. It’s a day that is meant for love. So I am going to say I love you to someone that I never say it to: myself. And I encourage you to do the same!
I know sometimes I can be a bit hard on you and not always take care of you the way I should. And I don’t say it enough, but I think you’re pretty awesome.
I love that you don’t need a man to take care of you. You fix your own garbage disposal, you kill your own cockroaches, and you carry your own groceries/laundry/bike up the three flights of stairs. That way when you are in a relationship, you can be equal partners instead of co-dependents.
I love that you cook without recipes. Sometimes you follow them, but most of the time you just throw things together.
I love that you own more workout clothes than anything else. It’s what you wear every day and so you invest. I can appreciate that.
I love that you didn’t give up when you had your stress fracture. Instead of feeling sorry for yourself and sitting around, you found different ways to work out and took even better care of yourself.
I love that you do not waver on big decisions. Sure, it might take you 20 minutes to pick out a loaf of bread, but you are always decisive on things that matter. You might be iffy on the day to day things, but you have an overall picture of what you want and what’ll get you there.
I love that you go camping and canoeing one weekend and then go to a fancy dinner and the symphony the next. And you enjoy both equally.
I love that you do not get upset or offended easily. You can laugh most things off and never mind poking fun at yourself.
So, I guess this adds up to one thing- I love you just as you are. You are enough just like this. Happy Valentine’s Day.
PS I love that you told yourself why you love you instead of waiting for someone else to do it. Why wait for someone else to tell you what makes you wonderful; you know yourself best!
