Longing to Long Run

Posted Sep 12 2008 11:45am
Today I got out around 11am. My original plan was to get started at 7am, but after waking up and seeing that it was still cold I decided to pull up the laptop and see if I could find some motivation.

I'm getting faster and my legs stronger every time I make it back on the road but the new life that waits for me and Jordan in Atlanta has taken most if not all of my attention. So, the running has taken a back burner for now. However, I realise that if I don't keep up with the miles... it will be another long road back.

That being said, the run today felt good. I am still at about 30% of the distance I was putting in on my long runs but hey, a run is a run. After about 45 minutes I could feel my left hamstring starting to get a little vocal so I pulled up on the negative split and wrapped up at the house just after 11:45.

Jordan cooked eggs and I had a few pieces of toast and a nice Yogurt and Strawberry with Orange Juice smoothie.

For Motivation:
"I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!"
