I’m moving Monday motivation to Wednesday this week (and maybe forever), which I guess means I’ll call it mid-week motivation instead? We’ll see. The point is, I have a minor success story from the weekend that I have to share first. And before I share that minor success, I have to include a long-winded preface to the story, because that’s just how I do things.
We had a pretty low-key weekend. Thursday night we went to an Oktoberfest that was put on by my old company at St. Arnolds. If you live in Houston and you like craft beer then you know St. Arnolds is pretty much craft beer gold, and there’s no way I could pass up a chance to see some of my favorite people (I love my old coworkers) and drink some good beer, so off Sean and I went.
Welllll a few beers at the brewery may have turned into a night out at the bar (for those of you who are new around here, my old supervisor is also one of my best friends, and I have a real hard time saying no to her). Here’s a super quality picture of us:
We had a lot of laughs though, so I guess it was all worth the pounding headache I had Friday morning? Good thing I had some yogi tea to detox with.
Needless to say, I wasn’t functioning in tip-top shape on Friday, which led to my coworker and I swapping Ryan Gosling pictures (she’s obsessed):

I get so excited seeing him speak French. Freaking swoon-worthy.
We also went out on a lunch run for sushi and tried desperately hard to find frozen yogurt (and failed, we ended up at McDonalds for cones). I had a really productive Friday. Sean played golf, so he had a really productive Friday too. I went grocery shopping, made a frozen pizza, and called it a night at the ripe old time of 9pm. We know how to rage on Fridays.
Saturday morning is a story for another day (tomorrow), but that’s a good story worth waiting for. The point of this post is my minor success. I ran errands all day on Saturday and Sean and I ended up going over to our favorite local bar for dinner (I had two glasses of wine with dinner. I love that bar because it’s the only bar I don’t feel weird ordering wine at), then we came home and went to bed (PARTYYYY!!!) because Sean was planning on racing motocross on Sunday.
I woke up early anyway.
I pandered around the house for a while, then finally laced up my new shoes and went out on an easy 3.5 mile run.
It was one of those runs (which are far and few between for me right now) where everything was perfect. The sun was coming out, the birds were chirping, and I was just happy. I had initially only been going out for a 20 minute walk, but once I stepped outside I knew I had to run. I love days like that.
I was in such a good mood when I came home that, after doing some abs, I went and woke Sean up and asked him if he wanted me to make him breakfast. <— Wife of the year award right there.
Bacon and eggs for the boy, turkey bacon and egg white + veggie omelet for me on the menu.
And – are you ready for it!! – this is where I had my minor weekend success!
I made a perfect omelet!!!!
This never happens for me!! My omelets always turn out terrible looking, but that one is perfection!!!
