Last night I met up with Corrine & Bobbie from OCTR to go on an 8-10 mile run. We met at 6PM and it was quite dark by then so definitely a headlamp run. We ran the well groomed Bell Canyon trail which, at first, runs right through Coto de Caza and eventually into Caspers Wilderness Park.
Due to the recent fires the wildlife is active in different areas and they have less space to "roam". Along with the remote feeling of this run after about 2 miles I did get a little nervous but not too bad. I was enjoying the run too much. It was a beautiful clear night. The stars were bright. I felt like we were really away from it all. We ended up running 8 miles. 8 glorious, dark, peaceful miles.
Because of moving and being sick, last nights run turned out to be my longest since running 9 miles on Nov 5. I'm shooting for a good 10 miler on some new local trails this weekend!
