This Thursday, June 24th is the Boston JP Morgan Corporate Challenge, a 3.5 mile race through the Back Bay. Companies from all over the state compete as a team for charity. I am excited because this is my 3rd year doing this race! Back in April of 2008 I signed up for my first race and starting training to get to 4 miles. When the race came closer they announced that it would only be a 5.12 (5K) instead. I finished in 32:43.
Last year it was the full 3.5 miles. I am definitely trying to beat my time goal from last year (36:04). It is also exciting because this is the first year they are using Bib timers. In the past you had to keep track of when you started and finished and sent in your time. Now it will be official! This is the only race I have done multiple times and I still can't believe how far I've come since last years race. Who new I'd be going from 3.5 to 13.1 in a matter of months. Luckily this is counting for my "3 mile" Chicago Marathon Training run too this week!
This will be Chris's first race! I have been running with him and I think he's ready! I probably won't see him until the end since you start off with your company and there are 12,000 runners!!! That is a huge race for such a small distance. There is definitely a lot of weaving in and out in the begining! If youre running look out for me! I will definitely post a race recap and keep your fingers crossed that we don't get thunderstorms!!
