Joe is Running for Dom

Posted Feb 22 2010 6:13am

Many of us have run races for a good cause, often to fundraise for a larger organization. I have done multiple races for the Komen foundation and I ran a marathon with Team in Training for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. There are reasons to run for these causes that tie into my family history and are close to my heart.

Joe and Dom

Joe and Dom - Kicking Cancer's Ass 26.2 Miles at a Time

But Joe… he’s doing something different.

He is running 2 marathons 13 days apart, all in effort to raise money to directly support his friend Dom (and Dom’s) family as he is treated for a serious gastrointestinal cancer. The marathons are Boston and Pittsburgh, but the races aren’t as big as the challenge his friend Dom is facing.

Lara at Saturday Morning Zen is featuring a two-part interview with Joe about the challenge. I encourage you to read this interview to learn more.

If you would like to follow along with Joe as he trains and fundraises, visit his blog: Joe is Running for Dom.

If you’d like to do your part to share the message about a fellow running blogger’s efforts, feel free to mention the interview and Joe’s blog on your site.
