So here is what these times break down to pace wise:13:44 minute mile pace to hit 6 hours. (To start early we have to be slower than this.)16:01 minute mile is to hit a 7 hour finish17:10 minute mile pace to hit a 7 1/2 hour finish18:18 minute mile to beat the 8 hour time limit. That is just less than 3 miles an hour.
Our Splits to simply make it less than 8 hours would be:
I looked today at my race times for the last three years. I have finished all of the races under the 8 hour pace time, even with some really slow finial miles. So mentally I feel I can and will do it. Now if only my body agrees and will hold up for that additional distance and time. I’ll find out very soon.
