Irish Hangovers, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and Bonfires

I love Saturdays. This Saturday brought crisp fall weather, plenty of relaxation, family, and good food.
I started off my morning, still sleepy, with some Maple Berry Banana Oatmeal.
After which, I did absolutely nothing of substance for a good 2 hours after. Idleness = bliss
Josh and I did run some errands in the early afternoon, during which I drank my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season. Lately, I have avoided coffee/espresso-based drinks, because they don’t always agree with my stomach. And since I haven’t had them for awhile, I felt I had lost my taste for them. However, the Pumpkin Spice Latte was delicious. Full of sugar, but delicious!
When I came home, I ate a late lunch of a hummus, tomato, and cheese sandwich with sliced tomato on the side.
We also shared a late birthday cupcake! I bought this one from Josh and I’s favorite bakery: Cocoa & Fig. It’s name? The Irish Hangover.
It was a chocolate cupcake made with Guiness beer, with chocolate ganache in the middle. The frosting was Bailey’s buttercream. Alcohol in cupcakes? Sign me up! (Just kidding!! I like my sweets and alcohol in moderation, of course.)
Later, we stopped by my parents’ house for dinner and a late birthday celebration for Joshua. We snacked on some chips and veggies.
Josh and I then headed down to the fire. Josh was happy to be there!
I found this angel in my mother’s flowerbed. Enchanting, no?
Enjoying the fire…
Dinner involved a hamburger patty, cucumber and tomato salad, homemade pickles (from my Grandma) and baked beans.
Good thing my long run is in the morning, after all the sweets I had today! Hoping to accomplish 9 miles in the morning!
