Tahoe Rim is coming up the third week of July. I need to get myself into gear! The marathon was a miserable race and disappointing in some ways but it was also a 26 mile training run from which I bounced back pretty well.
Saturday I met up with Stephanie for an 11 mile gorge run with 3000' of elevation gain. The run felt great although was a little slow. The elevation gain is some good training - lots of climbing! We started out at the Angel' s Rest Trail head and climbed 2.5 mile to Angel' s Rest which was followed by more climbing up to Devil' s Rest. We enjoy some smooth downhill sailing for a while after that on a gorgeous day. This run felt so much better than last time I ran in back in October. I wish we had done in faster though. This may be one of my new fitness measurement loops to see how I' m progressing.
Running days last week = 3 Running days this week = 4 Running days next week = 5
Yes, definitely ramping things up now. Hoping to hit peak miles at 50 for two weeks toward the end of June along with a couple altitude training runs. It' s also time to start taking my secret weapon Cell Food which I swear helped with with the altitude last year at Tahoe.
