I wanted to do some hill work today. So I mapped out a 1.5 loop that had a killer section of hill. I swear 66% of the course was uphill. You physics people will probably tell me that's not possible since I started and ended in the same place - but I'm telling you - you had to be there.
Lap #1 was 20:20 Not bad.
Lap #2 was 20:16 I was faster! Woah.
Lap #3 Didn't happen.
Toward the end of lap #2 the mental battle started. The one that I still often lose. Definitely one of my biggest challenges with running and on a day like today knowing I could have done 3 or 4 good laps yet talking myself out of it really sucks. My heel hurt, I was feeling sick, had to go to the bathroom. Blah blah. Truth is I just lost the mental battle today.
