I really do, I space out something fierce when I’m running/working out! Its kind of scary!
I discovered this last year when Amy and I were discussing races. She remembered parts of races we did that I had absolutely no recollection of. She would know what we wore, the course we ran, and random things that happened. I seldom even remembered which direction the race started. It was really odd when I realized just how much I space out!
I got a reminder this morning. I got to work this morning and was going to write down my workout on the calendar I have. For the life of me I have no idea if I ran the second half of my mile. No idea. I do know that I went to spin class and then I headed upstairs to run and lift. I ran a 1/2 mile and then I went to lift. My plan was to run another 1/2 mile after lifting, but I honestly couldn’t tell you if I did it or not. I went through the whole morning in my head, no idea what happened between my second circuit and having a runners’ chat on the way to the car. Weird!
I’m just saying I ran the extra half mile – I’d prefer to right “1 mile” than “1/2 mile”!
So apparently if you have something you want me to remember avoid having it happen any time during or shortly after my runs – I’ll forget!
