I have no pics from my run on Saturday - but I did get my camera over the weekend so I'll try it out on our Top of the World run this coming Saturday. Above is a picture of a fire near areas where I run.
We ran through Peter's Canyon and parts of Irvine Regional Park. Just yesterday the news started reporting a large fire that is gobbling up precious habitat in this area. You can see Irvine park in this picture below. If you follow up from there between the purple and the reddish highlighted sections, that is an area that we ran in about a month ago and it's very beautiful. If the fire jumps the 241 Toll Road it will start to eat up that landscape as well. Luckily the homes are on the other side of that. They evacuated the homes highlighted in purple, but I think they are far enough away to be out of any real danger - at least for the time being.
This Saturday we are running in Aliso Woods & Canyon Regional Park. This will take us up the trail to the "Top of the World" in Laguna beach. From there you can see the entire Saddleback Valley area, look down on Laguna Beach, and on a clear day see Catalina island off in the distance. I will have my camera with me :)
