This is the email I sent to all Harding Hustle runners:
Thank you so much for coming out and making Harding Hustle Version 1 a huge success! The weather cooperated (not too hot) and everything thing else went rather smoothly. I do apologize for the porta-potty situation. I misunderstood the Tucker peeps and thought we ALSO be able to use their bathrooms. I didn't know we couldn't use them at all or there certainly would have been more porta pottys. Their bathrooms were having septic issues because of all the rain this year.
It was truly a pleasure seeing all your smiling facing out there - old friends, new friends and all. If there is one complaint I have about being an RD is that I can't hang out and chat with each and every one of you after the finish!
Results are posted, including split times. Consider them final unless I hear otherwise from any of you. In the next few days I will be submitting results to Trail Runner Magazine for inclusion in their 2010 Trophy Series. Information on how you get points can be found here.
It was quite the race, and the battles for 1st place male and female were both close. The large swarm of bees near the top had also largely dispersed and I only know one person who got stung and only one person with a little bit of heat exhaustion. 81 of 81 starters finished the race with time to spare, and of course we had AMAZING volunteers and sponsors (Oakley, Orange County Trail Runners, Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary, Myoplex)!
Registration for the 2011 Harding Hustle will tentatively start next March. Stay tuned for early registration details - it will save you some cash! If you are not on the Dirty Feet Productions email list, you can join here. That will keep you up to date on all Dirty Feet races, including the upcoming Twin Peaks Ultra (if you are up to that distance) in February for which registration opens in September. This email list is ONLY used for Harding Hustle 2010 so make sure you join the Dirty Feet list to stay up to date.
Harding Hustle 2011 will probably take place on July 9th, 2011 and will include a 30K or 50K option. I hope to see you next year!
