It’s New Year’s Eve, and normally, I do not make resolutions, but this year, I feel like it is necessary. I started this blog with high hopes and grand ambitions, but I ran into a wall a few times, and slowly but surely, I allowed my dreams die. But the truth is, I KNOW I can still accomplish fitness goals. I may not be a distance runner, but I can still be a runner. And I can be a biker, and walker, a weight lifter, and a health and fitness junkie.
So today, I resolve to change my mindset. I will do what I can, for that is all I can do. I can choose to fill my body with healthy foods. I can choose to exercise every day. I can choose to finish my half marathon in February, even if I have to walk most of it. I can choose to define and build my muscles, ride one hundred miles across the state, and be an inspiration to others. Today, I choose to make 2013 my healthiest year ever. No alcohol, period! Small steps in other areas to achieve larger goals. So today, on this last day of 2012, I choose to get off the couch and on the treadmill to run two miles. I choose to be intentional about my meal planning. I choose to be the best me that I can be, starting today. Happy New Year, everyone!
