Foodie Pen Pal

Posted Sep 03 2012 4:40pm

Hey Ya’ll! I hope everyone has had a lovely Labor Day weekend. Ours was great and I will definitely recap it soon.

I was tending to bridesmaid duties this weekend as one of my best friends got married.

So, I am a few days late in posting the details of my Foodie Pen Pal package I received from Carolina of Stove to Canvas . Foodie Pen Pal is hosted each month by Lindsay from The Lean Green Bean . Bloggers and foodies alike sign up each month to be paired with another person from around the country. After you are paired, you contact one another to find out what the other loves/hates, etc. and set off to putting together a box of goodies to send to them. This was my first month participating and I had a blast! I sent a foodie package to Jenny  and Carolina sent a fabulous package to me.

Having just moved from Texas last year, I definitely miss some of the Texas classics that are hard to find out of the Lone Star State. Carolina must have read my mind because the box she sent had some fantastic Texas finds. I was so excited when I received the huge box from her. She included a whole bunch of Texas made foodie finds.

HUGE box of goodies

Delicious Tempeh Chips

Delicious Texas Finds – Texas Pete Hot Sauce, 2 salsas, Chicken Marinade and BBQ Sauce

Super cute bag to tote around the goodies

My favorite thing in her package was the tempeh chips. They were made from tempeh made by her friend and were so delicious. Those chips did not last very long on our vacation.

Big thanks to Lindsay for hosting and for Carolina for sending such a lovely package. Can’t wait for next month’s pen pals!
