I don’t remember every having the flu ever in my 28 years but now, I can cross “get the flu” off my bucket list. I was feeling a bit under the weather on Wednesday morning and then by the time I got home from St. Louis that night, I felt like I had been hit by a freight train.
A quick google search clued me into the fact that “sudden onset of symptoms” is a tale-tell sign of the flu and on Thursday morning, the doctor confirmed it.
Because I am under the weather, in no shape to go running or do anything FUN and EXCITING to blog about, I thought I’d give you my list of some of my favorite blogs. I love reading these and hope you check them out too.
Mile Posts – Dorothy, my marathon coach, is not only speedy but inspirational. She’s a mother of 3 adorable kids, a 3:13 marathoner, a running coach and a woman of faith. Her posts constantly make me want to Dream Big, Run Long (her trademarked slogan).
Best Body Fitness – Tina not only has insightful blog posts, but she writes from the heart. She puts so much into her blog and is always posting great workouts, personal struggles that readers can relate to and shares her life as she juggles her blog, her personal training business and being a mom to 2 very cute kids.
Paging Dr. Grace – Emily and I were sorority sisters at Tulane. She has an undeniable energy, great style and is a great example of balancing a hectic job and a healthy life. I always look forward to her posts!
The Concrete Runner – I just found Kristen’s blog a few months ago and have enjoyed reading about her life as a new mom as she trains for her first half marathon post-baby. She is an amazing athlete, an amazing mom and has a passion for healthy living.
The Wannabe Athlete – I can’t say enough great things about Callie’s blog. She puts out such great content in her blog from running tips to tips for beginning bloggers. She shares the ups and downs of being a new mom, training for races and life in general on her blog.
Health on the Run – Lauren is a crazy fast runner – like run a marathon more than an hour faster than this Cajun fast. She offers great training tips, funny running stories and the struggles of balancing marathon training with a busy life.
Ali on the Run – I always love reading Ali’s posts. She is funny, witty and has so much energy about running, life and everything in between. Her posts are sure to brighten your day and make you smile. She also raised over $20K for the Crohns and Colitis foundation last year – pretty amazing woman!
Healthy Happier Bear – Ashley is a marathoner living in NYC. Her blog always features great tips on health and fitness, fun adventures in NYC and beyond and her Marathons and Moderation series is super helpful for novice and experienced marathoners.
Peas and Thank You – Mama Pea is not only hilarious but she is a genius in the kitchen. She is constantly posting funny family stories as well as delicious recipes. Her cookbook is laugh out loud funny and all the recipes I have tried from it have been delicious.
Redonkulous runner - I just found Ashley’s blog recently and already love it. She is an accomplished Nashville runner who shares her love of running on her blog. I look forward to her posts as I get to learn more about the Nashville running scene.
Hope you enjoy these blogs as much as I do.
Here’s to praying for a quick recovery. My google searches on how long do you have to wait after having the flu to run (or just participate in general life events) have not been very optimistic. Thankfully, we have DVR and I have enough work to keep me busy for a while.
