Happy Friday! I will warn you, this post is sappy. I am so happy to be home, with family, and friends. I’m so puppies and rainbows and sunshine right now, it just came through in this post….
One of the reasons I am coming home is that my favorite couple is getting married. They have been together for as long as I’ve known them (5 years) plus some more in high school (yep, high school sweethearts). The bride was my rank leader in college and we are basically the same person only complete opposites. Yes, you read that right. I don’t know how else to explain it. It’s like we are each other’s alter egos. Our friendship shouldn’t work but it does and it’s unlike any other that I have.
Well, Saturday morning (aka their wedding day!) I am running a 15k. I wanted to be totally in the love mood and send positive vibes their way during the morning. So I created the “You make me believe in love” playlist…
If you notice, the first song is Bite the Dust. I only included it because 1-I need a slower beat to start with so I don’t take off when I race and 2-everyone has been getting engaged and hitched that my best friend sent me that song-I laughed for an hour. Some of the “Glee” songs you might want the normal version-I like the Glee version because they are faster.
As a single lady, it is a lot easier to be bitter and unhappy towards couples-but I love love and embrace it-especially when it’s so genuine like my friends. So, those 9.3 miles are dedicated to love (and hey, if my post race glow and endorphins just happens to attract someone I will consider it good karma)!
So I’m challenging you to put the bitterness aside and embrace love this weekend-even if it’s just loving yourself!
