Well, I just got a text from KMW asking if I’m really making a blog and I told her yes (duh), I’m going to use it to keep track of training. Her response was “haha yeah right, it will turn in to a cat lady blog!”. I promise I won’t talk about Matthew Cat too much… although he is curled up next to me now and looks super cute.
I suppose I will start with today’s workout, since the blog is supposed to be about working out, running and training. I had a bad week of workouts this week and I stayed in last night, so I was well rested and excited to get to the gym! I think my motivation is lacking because the weather is so nasty right now. AND I don’t have a major race immediately coming up (next up: Shamrock Shuffle 8k on 4/10 and Soldier Field 10 Miler 5/28), so it’s been easy to talk myself out of runs (bad Liz!). I vowed that today that would change! Training with my summer running group (Njoy Racing) doesn’t start until April, so I need to get myself in gear before then! I took one of my favorite classes at Equinox (Definitions) with one of my favorite instructors (Julie). The class is a “total body conditioning class” and it rocks – I will be sore tomorrow for sure. Instructor plays music I love (Britney, Lady Gaga, Rhianna – don’t judge me ), which makes class more enjoyable. I ran 3 miles, foam rolled and stretched after class. Solid Saturday morning workout!
I then battled the crowds at Whole Foods to grab stuff for dinner and stocked up on electrolyte enhanced water. I haven’t been drinking enough water recently, which is causing headaches and that needs to change! Tonight’s plan is to make dinner and take it easy… it is so cold and snowy out tonight! Tomorrow’s agenda: early morning spin class and day trip to Milwaukee to see the little bother, Allison and their baby-to-be, Elliot!
Soooo that was a kind of a boring first post, but I’ll soon learn how to jazz it up with pictures and links! YAY!
