Can somebody please invent a time machine?! I think I need more hours in the day! Since I was unable to blog about my day yesterday, I’m going to cover two days worth of eats in one blog post. Ready? Ok. Welcome to my virtual blogging time machine; please watch your step!
Zipping back to yesterday…
Monday was supposed to be my “relaxing” day, since I didn’t have class (I don’t have class at all on Mondays) and because I needed to rest and recoup from my eventful 9 mile run from Sunday. I started out with a basic breakfast of almond butter and banana on an Arnold Sandwich Thin.
Since I was using plain almond butter, I decided to smear just a dab of honey over the almond butter before I added the banana. It truly sweetened up my morning If you haven’t tried the almond butter/banana combo yet, what’s stopping ya?
Yesterday was also a bit unusual, because Josh was home with me! He had some car trouble over the weekend, and he ended up having to replace his battery (thank goodness it wasn’t anything more involved). But since he stayed home yesterday, he will be working some late nights this week to make up the hours.
Anyway, while he was home (and once his car was fixed), we ran some errands. This resulted in me eating a rather late lunch, and you can bet that my stomach was grumbling. The minute I got home, I heated up my leftovers from Pei Wei .
Oh curry. You were just as good the second day!
With my late lunch, I also tried this Pumpkin Apple Cider (alcoholic) that we found at the liquor store over the weekend.
I confess; I am pretty much obsessed with all things pumpkin (my mom actually used to buy me full pumpkin pies, just for me). But this was one pumpkin drink that I did not really enjoy. I knew that the combo of pumpkin and apple might be too weird to my tastebuds, and it was. Too bad I have 5 left to drink…
Between my late lunch and dinner, I procrastinated from my homework by watching the new Disney movie The Princess and the Frog. I really liked it! I am a sucker for all things Disney, and this was definitely a departure from the Disney movies I am used to. If you haven’t seen it, give it a look. Though I think that the classics like Cinderella and The Lion King are still my favorites.
Dinner was also something new. I wasn’t really hungry, so I dug out this Progresso soup that I found at Target.
The ingredient list was actually not that bad.
I ended up only eating one of the two servings (and saving the other one). It was just an OK soup, nothing too special. Plus I was still full from my huge portion of curry at lunch!
[Fast forward to today...]
Breakfast of generic fruit loops and almond milk (because I was really craving cereal and the generic fruit loops were all we had).
[Insert studying here]
I squeezed in lunch before a training I had to lead at 12:15 PM. I had been interested in trying the new sandwiches that Noodles & Co. came out with, so I figured today was as good a time as any to do so. I got the Veggie Med Flatbread sandwich (sans mushrooms).
This was really really good. Maybe one of the best veggie sandwiches I’ve had ever. I loved the dressing and the feta cheese. Seriously fell in love with this one. Try this! They also make a version with chicken.
[Insert a trip to the grocery store to get food and lots more studying in the form of over 100 pages of reading for tomorrow's class]
Finally, I present today’s dinner! After all that studying, I had to reward myself a little bit. I ate two pieces of frozen cheese pizza with some carrots.
Whew. I’m caught up. Awesome. So what’s up for tomorrow you ask?
You’ll just have to come back and see! I promise to post earlier, because really, I can’t be trusted to be witty or interesting at 10:45 at night
What is one thing that you wish someone would invent? The flying cars from The Jetsons? An invisibility cloak? Tell me in the comments!
