I woke up after a night out and felt so hungover. Funny because I only drank club soda! PSYCH! I lost 7lbs my first week which is super exciting! I am feeling energized and full!
I made breakfast, cleaned the apartment and then headed to the gym. I ran a few miles on the dreadmill and then headed out to meet my friend Allie at the mall. We had Starbucks and finished some Christmas Shopping. We got hungry around 5 so we headed to Lolita , my favorite Mexican place in Boston. I started to think how am I going to do this Paleo, but I was determined to make it work.
We got there and ordered our favorite Margaritas (Tequila comes from a plant right?Only had one!) and I got mine without a sugar rim. It also was made fresh, no crap sour mix. They brought over the Chips and Salsa and we ordered the Pork Belly Guacamole. I asked the waiter if I could have sliced veggies instead. A few minutes later he came back with the Guac and a beautiful assortment of carrots, yellow peppers, zucchinis, apples and cucumbers. (They ended up charging me $6, but understandable). I explained what I couldn't have to the waiter and ordered the Shrimp Ajillo. It was Jumbo grilled shrimp on a bed of Watercress with pickled onions and avocado. It totally slipped my mind to tell him no butter but when he brought it out he said "we usually cook in garlic butter, but I had them use oil instead". So that was amazing. I get that there may be a few ingredients that slip in, but for going out to a restaurant I think I was pretty successful. It was funny because at one point I reached for a chip and then said "NO" out loud. It was totally subconscious to reach for them and I stopped myself. I also learned that you should always just ask. Most restaurants are willing to accommodate you for a small price.
