dance a little, eat a little, run...later

Posted Feb 19 2011 12:00am
I know, I know.  I have been majorly slacking on my posts this week.  I was called out on it last night at work.  Sheesh.  Yesterday was a LONG day.  By the time I got home, I was pretty sure I was just walking and talking while sleeping.  I was with the kiddos 730-430, raced up to the gym to get my hair done for the daddy-daughter dance, ate really fast, then changed and the festivities began!  I was dressed as Belle and there was also Cinderella, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty.  When we took these pics, we couldn't find Snow White, but here are 3 of the 4 "princesses"
I wasn't special enough to get a crown :(

The thing that sucked is that they ordered larger dresses for all of us to make sure they fit and we all had to pin them so they still made us look bigger than we really are.  Oh well, I wasn't trying to impress any of the dads!

Our "Princess" poses
Cheeseball!

It was a great turnout and it was so cute to see all the little girls so excited.  They had us sign "autographs" and get our pics taken with the girls.  We were like celebrities! Haha.  It's always semi funny to see the dads at these functions though.  They either stand there awkwardly or they try to be cool and do goofy moves.  There were a few dads that were pretty good dancers though.  One dad knew the entire dance for the Hannah Montana Hoedown Throwdown which was quite entertaining.  The main job of the "princesses" was to get kids dancing, so we spent 2 hours shaking and shimmying.  It was a workout in itself!  I'd call the entire night a success.  The only creepy part was when one dad wanted his picture taken with all the princesses sans his daughter.  Uh...gross!

I had to stay after to help clean up and someone had the bright idea to stack 8 big chairs into this wheelie cart and have ME push it through the gym, onto an elevator, and across the fitness floor to storage.  Luckily, I didn't kill anyone, but it was scary.  I kept saying I needed to have one of those beeping noises going off as I rounded the corners.  I'm already spazzy as it is, so let's give the extremely tired spazz a difficult task!

I have plans to run today, but I have no idea how many miles or anything like that.  One running-related thing I've done today?  Bought my tickets to see "My Run"!  75 marathons in 75 days (pure insanity).  I'm going with two other runners and it's supposed to be fabulous.

Here's the link to buy tix: my run

It's March 31 and we can all go see it "together" (in spirit) and then talk about it after!  I found out that the runner works out at another club within my company.  A guy who I used to work with said he is super nice.  Pretty cool, I thought!  Ryan keeps making fun of me saying, "why do you wanna see a documentary about running?? It sounds so boring!"  THAT is why he is not invited : P

So far, the most productive thing I've done today is make a yummy breakfast
Just pretend that tater tots are a breakfast food, they are close to hash browns, no?

I'm off to do something productive...possibly.  Expect a 2-post day today!  (I'm trying to convince Ryan to take a picture of me wearing the tiara they let me have from last night LOL...so there may be that later...)
I'll leave you with these questions:
-Have you ever been to a daddy-daugther dance? (Either as a daughter or a dad)
-What did you do last night?
-Is anyone else going to see "My Run"?
-What is your favorite way to eat potatoes?Megan
