I still haven't been able to write about my trip to Boston for the marathon....partly due to having so much going on at home, but mostly because I have had a difficult time trying to figure out how to express my thoughts and feelings about the tragic events that occurred at the finish line. I WILL sit down and try to put it all down here on my blog--just not sure when.

In the meantime--on a happier note--CUPCAKES, COOKIES and BROWNIES-- OH MY!!

The wonderful people from Newington Mainstage  allowed us to sell baked goods during the intermission of their wonderful show this past weekend and we were able to raise $400 for my THITW fundraiser!!

Alex spent her entire weekend baking for this fundraiser! I made some brownies and cookies, but her cupcakes were the big hit of the weekend! We were SOOO tired by last night, but it was SO worth it!

It's sort of funny how this all came about! Alex had mentioned awhile back after making cupcakes for a charity event at her school, that she had thought about the possibility of doing a bake sale as a fundraiser for Camp. I thought that was a great idea, but we couldn't figure out where we could hold this fundraiser......

Soooo--when I heard about Newington Mainstage looking for someone to do their intermission refreshments and that they were willing to have a charitable organization do it and keep the money for their charity, I immediately thought of Alex's suggestion and volunteered our services! Even though it was pretty short notice for everyone--my wonderful family jumped at the chance to do this! Ray and Alex did so much work--shopping, baking, loading, making posters--spending hours setting up and selling! Conor helped out quite a bit also! This was definitely a team effort!

In addition to making money for Camp, we were able to spread the word to a lot of people who didn't know about this magical place! Of course there were also quite a few people who thanked us for fundraising for Camp. Among those were a couple of nurses from CT Children's Hospital who have first hand knowledge of the wonderful work that Camp does. One of these ladies said that it is impossible to stress ENOUGH how important this Camp is in the lives of so many of the kids and their families.

We had the opportunity to see the show on Saturday night and it was fantastic! It was hysterically funny and the performers were all AMAZING!

The Newington Mainstage folks asked us if we would like to provide baked goodies for their next show in 2 weeks!! Why yes we would!! In addition to these people being SO very talented--they are some of the NICEST, WARMEST people that I have had the pleasure of meeting!

BTW-- the cutie in pink in the cast photo above is Sundance Kidz-- very own Rosanne Gowdy!

Rosanne singing at Black Eyed Sally's for Hole in the Wall fundraiser!

Now--I think it's time to get serious about my NYC Marathon training. I'm going to decide on a training schedule today. Hopefully, my back won't be an issue. It was hurting over the weekend quite a bit, but mainly after sitting for awhile. I just have to remember to STRETCH, and listen to my body!
