As much as I love keeping busy in the summer and making sure I do as much as possible, I need my weekends where I have no particularly big plans and can just get errands done. After traveling the last two weekends, I’m looking forward to this coming weekend to get some yoga sessions in and catch up on some chores I haven’t been able to finish.
I also have a date with the Boston Brunchers on Sunday which should be nice! I have been wanting to go for so long and this weekend and the location is perfect! I’ll have to recap you all later on the delicious food!
But before I get too anxious about the weekend I should remember it is still only Monday! My legs and hips have been feeling extremely tight so I want to do yoga at home tonight or maybe head to a BSC class. I feel kind I blah since I haven’t had much time to get some good workouts in and because my body hasn’t been in the best shape. The past few days my left hip has been a little more irritated than I would like it to be. I also really really need to get back into a swimming routine so I don’t lose my aerobic fitness!
I am one of those people who likes a schedule and routine, so I miss my training schedule. Working out now just seems different than when I have a race coming up. But I need to find some motivation to make it happen and I need to remember that…
Do you find that when you don’t have a race coming up that your work out mindset is a little different?
I’m a little less strict on myself and it can be more difficult for me to stay on track!
What is your favorite thing to do when you have a free weekend?
Go for a long run, eat, nap, relax! I am so anxious to start running again but have to heal completely before getting into any serious mileage. So lately my favorite weekend activities are a yoga class and then some lifting and enjoying the nice weather if I can!
