Burn areas from the Santiago fir ...

Posted May 22 2009 10:49pm

Burn areas from the Santiago fire are especially prone to mudslides, etc.  Reports have been coming out of Silverado, Modjeska, and Williams Canyons in Orange County that mudslides have been occurring from today's rain and blocking some roads.  The local paper has no report yet on this.

You can find some brief info here and here

The USGS also has a live webcam looking over Santiago Creek in Modjeska.

The rains aren't heavy but it doesn't take much in some areas.  Hopefully everything and everyone will be okay.

Update from the OC Register including mandatory evacuations and unconfirmed reports of trapped residents.
