About a month ago, I was invited to join a "super secret" potluck group at work. "Super secret" so as to keep the "riff raff" out. Generally once a week, we have a themed potluck where we all try to bring in dishes that fit the theme. It's a fun way to learn about a culture and attempt to make something new to eat. This week was Jewish Potluck. After some searching on the internet, I settled on attempting bramboracky, a type of fried potato. I have never had bramboracky, so I don't know if I did any justice to it, but my biggest critic, my son Braedon, did not turn his nose up at it, and therefor it must have been fit for human consumption. Actually, I thought it was quite good - and I am a big fan of the versatile potato. Next week's potluck theme is Mexican and I am not yet sure what to make, although, amazingly, there is fair amount of nice looking cilantro in the garden that somehow survived the snow. Maybe I'll try to make some salsa.
