Back On the North Face Endurance Challenge Trail

Posted Jul 10 2013 5:00am
For those of you that have been with the blog for a while you know that I really like the North Face Endurance Challenge series of races. It has been a goal of mine for the last few years to run in one and I never have worked it out to do so. Again this year I had hoped to run in the 50k race for my 50th birthday. With the slow recovery from surgery I scratched that one out earlier in the spring. But things are a changing in regards to the Wisconsin race series.

I am happy to announce a couple of things related to this September’s North Face Endurance Challenge. First I am once again pleased to be working with North Face to promote this race series. Starting today I will devote a handful of blogs to the Wisconsin edition of the Challenge slated for mid-September. I will also very soon be explaining how you could earn a free entry into the race! But until then, North Face has been kind to offer a discount code for you the readers of the blog. For either the upcoming 2013 Wisconsin or Georgia North Face Endurance Challenge races coming up this September they are offering a 15% discount! Use code BUL13 (Case Sensitive) for either race. Check out all of the information around either the Wisconsin or Georgia races here .
I also want to share that I will be running at the Wisconsin date. I will be there with my family that Sunday September 15th running in the half marathon. My son will also be running the 5K that day along with his sister in the Kid’s race. So it would be a great time to come and meet the whole “Sole Family” at the event along with enjoying a great day of running in the Kettle Moraine State Park. As mentioned before the blogs I will be creating around the race will deal with my training, prep for the event and of course the race in review. I am very excited to be finally heading down to take part along with my family in this great event.

As a part of this announcement I did what to spotlight the Kid’s Race. It certainly looks like it will be the highlight of the day for both kids and from what I have seen online

For those too young to enter the Endurance Challenge race distances, the Karno Kid’s Race provides a fun, supervised way for kids to join in the action on race day. The North Face Global Athlete Team Member, Dean Karnazes, along with a variety of others such as Cinderella, SpongeBob Square Pants and Buzz Lightyear just to name a few, will lead the way over a 1K course . The Karno Kid’s Run is a great activity for friends and family of those racing on Saturday, and Sunday. The Karno Kids booth space at the ECS festival allows participants to learn more about their cause and features a face painter, coloring contests, hula hoops, games and snacks for the kids.

Registration is FREE for all kids 12 and under. Each participant will receive a finisher medal, race number, and a free race photo provided by Photos On the Go. Registration will take place on-site Saturday and Sunday at the Karno Kid’s booth at the Endurance Challenge Festival. For more details on the Karno Kid's Race, visit your market specific race page.

So in the mean time I recommend that you follow the North Face Endurance Challenge on both Facebook and on Twitter . I wouldn’t want you to miss any news around the event.
