As always, the Western States field this year is very strong with many experienced and seasoned runners and a few newer challengers. Less than 3 days away and I'm sure the runners are all making their final preparations. Some of them are already in the area.
The elite women's field boasts runners such as Nikki Kimball, Beverly Anderson-Abbs, Caren Spore, Meghan Arbogast, Annette Bednosky, Suzie Lister and Kami Semick. For the elite men we have Hal Koerner, Erik Skaden, Grahm Cooper, Andy Jones-Wilkins, Tracy Moore and others. We can't count out some of those who don't have an "M" or "F" in front of their number such as Devon Crosby-Helms, Michelle Barton, Karl Meltzer, Anton Krupicka, Brian Morrison and many others.
I'm looking forward to watching the webcast progress and will certainly be keeping an eye on these above runners as well as bloggers Scott Dunlap & Tom Riley and other SoCal locals including Kyle Hoang, Jennifer Forman, Rob Cowan, Hwa Ja Andrade & Fred Pollard.
Not the most difficult 100 mile race but arguably the most prestigious.
