Ali’s ABCs

Posted Mar 04 2011 12:26pm

Hi friends!

I know, I know. My blogging has been incredibly infrequent and unpredictable lately. Chalk it up to a stressful couple of weeks.

I have plenty to update you on, but it’s going to have to wait for now. In lieu of a day-to-day post about my life, I’ll jump on board the blogger bandwagon and give you the ABCs of my life.

I love Nutella crepes. What more do you want to know?

A: Age. 25 until May.

B: Bed size. Full. Though my comforter is Queen-sized. I like having lots of blanket to curl up in.

C: Chores you dislike. I honestly love cleaning. I’ll do dishes, I’ll scrub the shower and I’ll happily dust. But I hate vacuuming and pretty much refuse to ever take out the trash.

D: Dogs. I wish! I love pugs, puggles, French bulldogs and Boston Terriers. If it has a smushy face, I like it. But at this point in my life, working a full-time job, I can’t take on the responsibility of having a pup in my life. Someday though!

Oh haiiiii

E: Essential start to your day. Running. It’s how I clear my head and mentally prepare for the day. It’s also how I see so many amazing sunrises.

THIS is the essential start to my day

F: Favorite color. Lime green

G: Gold or silver. It depends. I was always a silver girl, but lately I really like gold.

H: Height. 5’5″ — I’m average

I: Instruments you play(ed). I was a flute-playing rock star in elementary school. My parents were super disappointed when I quit in favor of dancing.

J: Job title. Deputy Editor in Chief. People always ask me if I carry a badge. Sadly I don’t.

K: Kids. Nope. Not for quite a while.

L: Live. NYC! This city is tough, ruthless and so fast-paced that sometimes I feel like it seriously kicks my butt. However, I always knew I wanted to live in Manhattan and now I’m doing it. So no complaints. I’m still in awe of the Empire State Building every single day, and I feel very blessed to live in such a vibrant, exciting metropolis.

The greatest city in the world

M: Mom’s name. Lori. Sometimes I call her “Law-zee” because that’s what her mom calls her. She does not like it.

N: Nicknames. Ali. Ali Cat. Al Dawg. Pan. Pancake.

O: Overnight hospital stays. Plenty. I have Crohn’s Disease , after all. The worst overnight hospital stay was when I was studying abroad in Australia during my junior year of college. It was a nightmare.

P: Pet peeves. Haha. Where to start? I really hate people who are late. I hate waiting. I’m working on being a more patient person, but seriously, don’t keep me waiting or you’ll be greeted by a very Angry Ali.

Q: Quote from a movie: “Ribs. I had ribs for lunch…that’s why I’m doing this.” I spent two straight years of my life speaking solely in Anchorman quotes. Really. Well, mostly.

I love Scotch, Scotchy, Scotch, Scotch...

R: Righty or lefty. Righty.

S: Siblings. Big brother Ryan. We’re just 19 months apart. People have asked if we’re twins. Ryan is married to Michaela, who is the best sister-in-law you could ask for. She’s so nice and so thoughtful. I always wanted a sister (no offense, Ry Guy) and am thrilled I got such a good one.

Michaela, Ryan and me

T: Time you wake up. First alarm goes off at 5:30. Second one at 5:45. It’s brutal. But it gives me plenty of time to do a morning ab routine, go for a run, shower, eat breakfast and play on the computer before I have to get to the office.

U: Underwear. I don’t really understand the question. Like do I wear it? Of course I do. That’s all you need to know.

V: Vegetables you don’t like. I’ve tried to get excited about broccoli rabe, but it’s just too bitter for me. I also hate asparagus. But I adore broccoli, carrots and apples.

W: What makes you run late. Nothing. Ever.

X: X-rays you’ve had. I’ve had to get a few tummy scans for the whole Crohn’s thing. Nothing major though.

Y: Yummy food you make. This. And not much else.

Z: Zoo animal favorites. Baby animals. No matter what kind. I also really like giraffes.

NOW IT’S YOUR TURN: You don’t have to go through the entire alphabet, but how about you share a fun fact about yourself. Let’s all get to know each other better, shall we?
