First, let's take care of business. The winner of my RoadId giveaway is number 97, Laurie of (Mis)Adventures of a Jogging Stroller Mom. Congrats Laurie! Email me and I'll give you the code you need to get your RoadId.
Onto a completely different topic, but one that I love--the Tour de France (TdF). Every year I look forward to this event. I truly think it is the most exciting, amazing race out there. This year has so many top contenders that it promises to be an epic one.
I've watched the Tour every year for probably the past 15, with the exception of a few years when I just couldn't help but be let down by all the doping scandals. So many guys that I cheered for went out on doping charges--it's a huge disappointment to find out that one of your favorite athletes is cheating, no?
I think that these days the doping probably still goes on; there's no way for the officials to keep up with the ever evolving ways for athletes to cheat. But I do think that cycling is on the right track--one of the reasons so many cyclists have been caught is that the sport is policed well. Other sports need to fall in line, in my opinion.
Which all brings me to the main guy I love to watch--Lance (yes, I know, original!). I know there is a cloud of doubt about whether or not he has been/is clean and I have to admit, I'm not really sure. I just hope for the best and know that I have loved the show he's given us over the years. No matter what, I'm going to be glued to the TV for a couple of weeks to see how it all shakes out this year. Anyone else?
