A running introduction...

Happy 2010 and welcome to the blog, friends! As a fairly-recent college grad (with a journalism degree, no less), I know I'm WAY late in the game in joining the blog-o-sphere.

I am currently set to run two marathons this year-- Nashville's Country Music Marathon and the ING New York City Marathon , on April 24 and Nov. 7, respectively. This blog will document my training program and healthy (and, um, some not-so-healthy) living habits as I make my way to the starting line.

A few running-related fast-facts
I'm a morning runner. And, no, it does not always come easily.

I ran my first three half-marathons in 2009.

I'm not a breakfast person. I often down a quick cup of coffee before heading out in the morning, or I just go on nothing at all. (And I know I'm going to need a good marathon breakfast! This will need careful thought and planning.)

And a few non-running related fast-facts
I will turn 23 on Valentine's Day (as will my identical twin sister, Carla, who incidentally is also a hardcore runner).

I live for country music. And all things '80s. Don't laugh.

I have a major sweet tooth. My day is incomplete without dessert(s).
