I’m excited to say for the first time in months that I have a race on the calendar tomorrow!
Well, not really a “race”… but I signed up for a local trail run. They’re hosting a 5k, 10k and half marathon option and I decided on the 10k. It’s supposed to be one of the warmest days of the week (even hitting 40 -heat wave!) and there’s no pressure to move very quickly on a trail, right?
I plan to take my time and enjoy the fresh air and running with a bib in a race again. I realize it could be a lot harder than a typical 10k… I really don’t know much about the course or what to expect, but regardless, it will be a fun adventure. At least, I hope I can report back some good news.
And in perfect timing, some new running clothes appeared at my door this week:
Lorna Jane contacted me and asked if I’d like to try some of their gear. I chose a bright pink sports bra (doesn’t every girl need one of those?), a purple tank and running tights. The sports bra is cute enough (and conservative enough) that I could possibly see myself wearing it sans shirt in the summer.
I love the purple tank- it’s really comfortable, with a built in sports bra…. perfect for running or teaching a spin class.
The tights will get their first trial run at the race tomorrow… they are also a perfect fit, for now. The expanding belly will outgrow them soon but I needed another pair of tights in my winter running rotation for the future.
Running has been feeling really good this week. I hope this keeps up for the magical second trimester!
