13- Mile Trail Run

Posted Sep 03 2010 2:07pm
Today my dad took off from work, so we wanted to do something different for a run. We decided to drive to a location to do a course we ran last year for our last 20-miler before Philly. That was at the very beginning of my blogging days and I nicknamed the route " Namaste Run " because we one of the farms we passed was name Namaste Farm. How perfect. Of course, this time I had to get pics

You can't see the sign at all in this blurry cell phone pic...

More terrible cell phone photos...

It was a beautiful day for a run, although I was pretty sore from FIT last night.

The run was overall kind of slow, but here's why

Mile 4~9:34
Mile 5~9:51
Mile 6~9:57
Mile 7~9:25
Mile 8~9:12
Mile 9~9:17

Here's where things started to turn around...

Mile 12~8:36
Mile 13~7:43
Mile 13.1~6:31

The long run for this week was supposed to be 15, but I'm pretty sure this qualifies. It was that hard. The run basically turned into a 13 mile run including a 25 minute progression run at the end. We were both exhausted by the end. I can't believe we made that route a 20-miler last year. It is the perfect tough 13 miler. After showers and a quick walk for the pup, we went out for some well deserved sandwiches and ate lunch in the park.

After lunch we went to Starbucks and I got my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season- grande with skim milk and half the pumps :) It was a lovely day!
Have a great Labor Day weekend!
