Strength training for rock climbing?

What types of strength training do you do to prepare yourself for climbing? Please share your training tips!

Since you're pulling your body up when you do rock climbing, I'd add some pull ups.  When there's a tree nearby with a low hanging branch, do a few.  Monkey bars are another good place to strengthen your arms while you're also having fun!  And definitely do some stretches.  A nimble body will help you scoot up that mountain.  Cheryl
