Rock climbing Tips - Technique

Trust your belayer. Trust whoever is belaying you, and focus on your climbing
Visualize the route. Before you climb, visualize the sequence of moves through the entire route - or at least as much as you can see from the ground
Warm up and stretch. Prior to climbing, take a half hour to get your muscles and joints loosened up, and your heart rate elevated
Watch and learn. Observe good climbers and make mental notes of their techniques and routes
Weight on your legs. If your weight is on your legs, you can move your hands from one hold to the next slowly and calmly
Within reach. Focus on what is within reach
Work on Balance. A good sense of balance is the key to moving smoothly and making difficult climbing moves appear effortless
X-climb. Picture yourself in an X-shape with your hips being the middle of the X
