Hi There. I finially updated my photo with one that actually looks like me.
I am 50 yrs old, an fine artist and a volunteer Bible Teacher. Yes, that's right...two carreers that make little to no money! I was selling quite a bit of my work until about a year ago, when the big financial problems started.
I am originally from Michigan and have been living in the L.A. area since 1981. I have a cat named, 'Sparky' who is a Polydactyl (he has extra toes!) He goes camping with me and walks on a leash. He recently replaced my other 'camping kitty', who at a ripe old 16 yrs, had to be put to sleep...very sad.
I was in great physical shape until 12 yrs ago when I got Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Up until then, I was working out with weights every day, camped, hiked and had lots of energy. For a couple of years it was real bad. Then I got better, but was just never the same. I would say the last year my body, although it still looks good, feels very bad. I ache all the time, don't have the energy to exercise much and when I do, I feel it the next day. It is hard for me to exercise lightly. When I do, I tend to try to do what I used to. It even hurts me to raise my arm to paint for long peroids of time, so I am not getting too much of that done lately.
I would love to talk to someone else who has CFS and how they are coping.
