The weather outside was frightful last night in NYC and according to the weather experts, we were about to experience another epic nor’easter. I went through my usual worries: "How much will this affect my business tomorrow??" "Cancellations?" "Delays?" "Will the N train shutdown?!" Then the North Carolina girl in me starts to come out: "I NEED MILK!" Though I cleverly disguised this urgency as a deep yearning for a nice hot cup of coco to those around me.
In reality, the storm did not do much. The snow definitely came down, but not nearly to the extent that we all thought. So off to work I went this morning, trying my best not fall as I did my NYC strut trudge over the piles of slick snow. Even though the snow did not meet most people's expectations last night, I hope everyone took some time out to enjoy the sight. I’ve never been a huge fan of snow, and usually prefer to admire it from afar, but even I couldn’t deny the sereneness of those little white flakes quietly blanketing my neighborhood last night. Putting my worries aside and taking it all in was the highlight of the evening. After all, there is really no point in stressing today over what may or may not happen tomorrow. Find peace in something simple and enjoy the moment. I hope my fellow NYers took some time out to stop, look, and appreciate the beauty as well.
*Thanks to the city workers for getting things done quickly this time around! And thanks to E.B. for this wonderful pic :)
